We're at the climax of the game at last everybody, so let's get right into it!
Time To Save Lumiose City!

Team MZ rushes over to Prism Tower to meet up with Vinnie. As we can see, the situation is quite dire as the scaffolding surrounding the tower has fallen to bits and Prism Tower is glowing with Mega Energy. We have to get in on the action now before all hell breaks loose. However, Floette needs to go with the strongest Mega Evolution trainer and so Urbain challenges me for the right to go with Floette. Seems a bit unnecessary to battle here as time is of essence, but here we go. His team consists of a male Meowstic, Goodra, Avalugg, Manectric and the two starters you don't pick. Since I picked Totodile for this run, he battles me with Emboar and Meganium.

Oh and depending on which starter has a type-advantage over yours, he Mega Evolves it. In this case, it's Meganium whereas those who pick Chikorita would have to battle Mega Emboar and those who pick Tepig will battle Mega Feraligator. When it comes to Mega Meganium, I personally love it. It looks so pretty and graceful with all the different coloured flowers around its neck and I love how it becomes a Grass/Fairy type when it Mega Evolves. Meganium would benefit from a secondary typing after all and now its Mega Evolution gives it one. It was pretty powerful too, nearly wiping out my whole team single-handedly (mostly because my Pokémon didn't attack when I told them to for whatever reason). I was down to my last and only won because I'd worn Mega Meganium out by the time my last came out. But the battle didn't matter in the end because Urbain still insisted that he go with Floette instead. Lovely, so the battle was a waste of time then since no matter the outcome, Urbain gets Floette anyway. Why does this game love giving us battles that waste time? :/

Anyway, Floette accepts Urbain's proposal and hands him her Mega Stone. We then get a neat cutscene in where Urbain goes for the big moment...

...and Mega Evolves AZ's Floette. Honestly, this was the best idea GameFreak could've gone with for a Mega Floette, just making the flower bigger and looking more powerful. Not the most imaginative Mega, but it works for this Pokémon. Urbain and Floette go up into Prism Tower and Floette does her stuff. She activates Ange and Ange absorbs all the Mega Energy. It seems as if the day is saved and the threat has been quelled. But...

...it hasn't. Rather the threat has finally begun. Ange goes berserk and corrupts Mega Floette. A huge plant-like creature forms inside the tower and huge vines and flowers sprout out from everywhere. It's like watching a Poison Ivy scheme happening right before us! Mega Energy spreads, Ange is going crazy and Urbain and Floette are trapped inside the tower. It truly feels as if Kalos as a whole is heading for disaster. Not good at all...
Saving Floette From Ange's Corruption

With no idea what to do next, Lida takes us over to a slab of rubble to use as a makeshift table so we can have another strategy meeting. However, the meeting is gate crashed when all the high ranking trainers of the Z-A Royale show up and offer to help. Ivor, Canari, Jacinthe, Corbeau, everybody is here to back us up and save Lumiose City from destruction. The plan is simple: everybody battles a way through the Rogue Mega Pokémon and make a
pathway for me to get to Zygarde so I can fight alongside Zygarde in order to stop Ange.

First up is Ivor and Gwynn who help me get past a Rogue Mega Garchomp, Pidgeot and Kangaskhan.

Next, Canari helps me battle a Mega Evolved Blastoise and Steelix and her grandfather Tarragon builds some scaffolding to help me get across some rubble to the other side.

Then Lebanne helps me get past Mega Salamence and Mega Aggron while Jacinthe's helping keep the public safe (and then shows up in person to help Lebanne later on).

Then the Rust Syndicate help out with Corbeau teaming up with me to battle a Rogue Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade and the rest forming a human ladder so I can climb to the top of a building to get to Zygarde. Yes, it's as funny as it looks, especially with Corbeau at the very top there. XD

Funnier still, if you fall off the building, Corbeau gets mad and the Rust Syndicate have to do it again so you can climb back up. You can apparently do this three times before the game puts up an invisible wall to stop you doing it again. It's like even the game's telling you off for wasting time and being silly. XD

After that, I finish off with Grisham and Griselle helping me fend off a Mega Evolved Alakazam, Metagross and Aerodactyl. All of these are Rogue Megas are tough battles and I did black out once or twice against some of them, but they are manageable and weren't too frustrating to handle.

I finally meet up with Zygarde on the roof of a building...and also Lysandre. he's gathered 99 Zygarde Cells, meaning its but one cell away from being able to reach its 100% form. Lysandre tells me to team up with Zygarde and save Lumiose City. How funny that the man who once tried to destroy the world now wants me to save it. XD

Luckily for Zygarde, I had the last cell hiding on me the whole time and they all come together to form 100% Zygarde. The battle is on with Zygarde facing off against Ange while I support from the ground. Two flowers show up to attack me and my Pokémon and they're type less, so I'm not able to use any super-effective attacks. All I can do is brute force my way to victory.

It's a tough battle, but eventually, I'm able to do the damage and Zygarde also lands some heavy blows too and we get an epic finishing shot when it attacks using its signature Core Enforcer attack. Hell yeah! So awesome to watch it carve that Z down Ange! Zygarde's the protector of the earth and it's not afraid to show it!

But Ange is persistent and gathers up power to launch one final attack. If it lands, then Kalos as a whole is doomed, not just Lumiose City! But then...

The pebble that Zygarde gave me earlier in the game transforms! As I suspected the pebble was really Zygarde's own Mega Stone the whole time! With a Zygardite in my possession and fully awakened, it's time to Mega Evolve!

Zygarde is now Mega Zygarde! I love how it essentially sacrifices some of its armour in favour of a giant f***ing cannon it can use to blast away its enemies, that's hilarious to me. XD

What follows up is the most awesome cutscene in Pokémon history as I take my stand with Mega Zygarde at my command and we stare up at the incoming attack together. Then with the fate of the Kalos region in our hands...I give the command to attack.

But Zygarde doesn't use Core Enforcer this time. As Mega Zygarde, it now has a new attack call "Nihil Light", a Dragon-type move that's so powerful that even Fairy-types aren't safe from it. Yep, we finally have a Dragon-type move that can hurt Fairy-types, how about that?

The two attacks clash and cancel each other out, resulting in a beautiful, spectacular fireworks display that lightens up the night sky. It's quite a jaw dropping sight, let me tell you and certainly not a visual spectacle that Pokémon games from before the Switch era could pull off. And people say the graphics suck in this game. =P

It's finally over. The day is saved, Lumiose City will not be destroyed now, Ange has been quelled, Mega Zygarde has done its duty and Urbain and Floette are safe and sound, even if Floette's a little worn out. Still, all's well that ends well for all of us.

Even AZ has a smile on his aged face as he thanks Team MZ for all they've done. With both the ultimate weapon and Ange gone for good, his past sins are finally atoned for and he can live in peace at long last. Or so we thought...
AZ's Time Has Come...

After the credits roll and we see a montage of people helping to rebuild Lumiose City, both people and Pokémon, we return to Hotel Z. But the place seems deserted. There's nobody in sight, not even AZ. Where is everybody?

Ah, there they are, but what's with the gravestone?

Oh...

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!
...yeah. That just happened. AZ...is dead. :( His 3000 year life finally coming to a close. Annoyingly, I was spoiled about this outcome, but to be honest I think I would've called it since the game not-so-subtly implied he was dying. As we see, he was never made immortal, his lifespan was expanded. 3000 years of life, and it's finally at an end. At least AZ was able to die a happy man now he has nothing left to atone for. Still, it was quite a gut punch of an ending. I really liked AZ and having him around in this game as a sort of grandfather figure to the team and it's a shame he's really gone now. AZ is also officially the second character in the Pokémon games to explicitly die in story with the Professor character from the Scarlet and Violet games possibly being the first. Despite the sobering moment, Team MZ is still eager to carry out their duties and keep AZ's spirit alive as now they have whole new days ahead of them in Lumiose City.

The main story concludes completely with one final shot of AZ's grave as the word "FIN" appears in the corner. A suitably bittersweet note to end on as AZ may be gone, but Lumiose City is safe and people and Pokémon alike can live on together in harmony with no threat from AZ's past sins looming over them ever again...
Conclusion
And that concludes my playthrough of Pokémon Legends ZA! It was quite an epic journey I have to say and I had a blast playing the game. Next week, I'll have my full review up and ready, so don't miss it! Oh and before you ask, no I'm not documenting the post game here. There's not really much to talk about with the post game anyway as all there is is just a few collectibles and side quests to finish off. The most I can say is I caught Xerneas and Yveltal, fought a tough battle against Lysandre that I had to do about four times before I won and then caught Zygarde, which was no easy feat. But I am going to finish off with one last batch of Mega Photos...

Mega Steelix (Thanks to Kiva the DC Wizard again for helping me get this one).

Mega Scizor (Thanks to Kiva again for this one too).

Mega Pyroar.

Mega Meganium.

Mega Emboar.

Mega Malamar.

Mega Venusaur.

Mega Blastoise.

Mega Delphox (Delphoxite only obtainable via online battles).

Mega Diancie (only available via Mystery Gift).

Mega Floette.

And finally, Mega Zygarde.
And that's the end of my Legends ZA playthrough series! I hope you had fun with it and hopefully I'll be able to do another one of these in the future. Until then, see you later media fans!

Whoo, what an adventure. :D
Quite stunned that’s how AZ died, I was thinking we’d see him on his bed found by the heroes. Though still it’s a good enough ending for you.
Yeah, being double teamed by two wild megas whom are jacked up in terms of stats is not easy, I blacked out a few times too.
The human ladder was hilarious. Also the piece of rubble as a meeting table was kind of funny.
Zygarde's mega form is the most anime thing I've seen in Pokemon and I'm all for it XD
Poor AZ...at least he lived to see his past mistakes undone and died without regrets left. He is at least remembered fondly.
Glad I was able to help with the Steelix.
Anyhow, it was indeed a blast of a game to play through
